Support for Caregivers of Older Adults
This program provides vital information for caregivers of older adults with chronic health issues. Family caregivers will acquire additional skills for enriching the quality of life of the older adult. In order to manage successfully, the caregiver must obtain accurate information, emotional support, develop a sense of effectiveness as a caregiver, and become well informed about ethical and legal issues. Knowledgeable, committed, sensitive health professionals provide valuable information and innovative strategies to meet these needs. The program is available in several formats (manual, CD-Rom, and online).

Spinal Cord Injury
The purpose of the Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Education Initiative Project is to provide timely, appropriate education/information to assist people with SCI to live healthy lives upon their return to the community. Education and information is an essential component for individuals with SCI to reintegrate back into their community and to support ongoing prevention of secondary problems. Knowledgeable healthcare providers, caregivers and the individual themselves are key to ensuring success and independence. An educational resource manual and CD-ROM for SCI survivors, their families, and health professionals was developed by rehabilitation clinicians working in SCI. This is one of many tools developed with the funding provided by the Glenrose Foundation and the Alberta Paraplegic Association.
